Intermediate/Senior Database Developer Position
PortoLynx.com is seeking an Intermediate/Senior MS SQL Server Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in database design and development of new e-commerce applications and maintaining & enhancing existing releases. In addition, the individual will collaborate with all members of the development team using project life cycle methodology.
Superior communication and interpersonal skills will be essential for this role. You will be actively involved in all phases of software development, from analysis to design, implementation, testing and documentation.
The ideal candidate will have:
- a post secondary degree/diploma in Computer Science or equivalent
- at least 3-5 years of experience focused on web/database applications with experience in creating e-commerce software solutions.
- proven experience in creating SQL Databases using Stored Procedures in particular MSAccess, MySQL, SQL Server
- demonstrated knowledge Database Design and Architecture
- experience working with web developers to create efficient queries and stored procedures
- knowledge of web application programming in languages such as ColdFusion, PHP, ASP is beneficial
- knowledge of CSS, JavaScript and hand coding HTML skills is beneficial
- Able to work well independently and in a team
- excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
- experience designing and coding features to meet specifications
- proficiency with Cross Browser/Platform testing and determining issues,
- an understanding of end-user objectives (usability/functionality)
- knowledge of and experience with Version control systems
